For me, it's convenient. I don't mean I live nearby, but it's an easy (if long) drive and I can plan the vacation in my sleep. I know what hotels I like, and where everything is in the park. It's a vacation I don't have to stress over planning, can squeeze in a 3-day (hell, even 2-day) weekend, and can literally do last minute. I imagine it's like how other people go to a family cabin (something I think would get boring year after year).

I like to travel, but the further away from college I get, the less appeal it has for me. I don't have the time or energy to map out new vacations. And it's very difficult for me to get time off. Couple that with the fact that we in the states only get 2 weeks off a year, well, who wants to spend that time feeling rushed or getting lost? I hate that feeling of getting home and needed a vacation from your vacation.
