1. I love both my offline and online friends, but being from as small a town as I am, it's hard to find others with the things I enjoy, in common. I find more people online that have the same morals and interests as I do - so I can understand feeling closer to online friends.

2. Aww, that's no reason not to enjoy a convention or other event - you don't need to cosplay, to have fun... And it's not a crime to cosplay, if you're overweight. A lot of people cosplay characters they don't realistically look like.

3. Okay, first.... That picture is disturbingly cute.
Secondly- yeah, not that exactly, but I've certainly learned some interesting things I didn't know the mechanics of, before fandom.
Fandom teaches things.

7. Okay, up until the 'I think I like the pretty profiles' better, I was really thinking "So what? Make the RP anyway." At worst only a couple of people will be interested in it... Smaller RPs are easier to organize and manage as a mod, anyway.
And I feel you on the hating to advertise front. You could ask someone else to do it, or what I tend to do is advertise in like three comms a night (and I don't advertise every day.) so it's not spamming everyone with the same ad over and over.

Ummm... I'm just trying to be helpful. If you don't really want to start an RP, 'cause you think you'd lose interest- ignore me.
and people do see things on GJ. It is a legit site... That's where I participated in and made all of my first RPs.

11. Err.... I'm not looking for a fight, but seriously, the only thing I liked about that show was Daria.

12. I do this too, whether with friends or relationships. Just seeing myself and someone I know in a certain dynamic between two characters - and loving to see the two characters together and interacting, because of it.
I also don't tell the person...

16. That pains me in more ways than I can explain. Although, in their defense- it might have more to do with how few scenes the characters were in, than the fact that they're not pretty little boys?
I don't know the person, so I could be completely nuts. Obviously, his sons weren't in many episodes, themselves. I just think it's easier to ignore those small scenes than... Well, Russell's loud.

That's an awesome ship... Someone should write something for [livejournal.com profile] fma_rare for it.

18. A lot of anime sucks, a lot of American cartoons suck. It's all about finding the ones that work for you and just enjoying them. Yes, hearing it all the time gets damn annoying - but so do comments like these, where you seem to think you or your preference is BETTER.
It's not better, just because you like it more.

But Foster's, and Mulan, and Kim Possible... All good choices.
KP was so my Harry Potter

19. Hahaha... You are not alone. A lot of girls just assume boys are girls without asking. And it is easier to pass for whatever you want, through a computer screen.

21. I wish I could get past the fact that his name is Light. All these fandom!secrets about it drive me crazy... I'm not even into that series.

22. ..... Maybe I'm missing something plainly obvious here. From what I've noticed fandomsecrets averages 4 pages of comments a secret post, and ljsecret averages 7-11. Though I do have to say I enjoy it much better here, and don't even submit secrets to lj, usually.

not!fandom [2] - IAWTS.
Completely. I'm so sick of people making secrets for the amusement or wank, or angst, drama, to see how gullible we are... Whatever.
Some people relate to secrets, and it's harder to agree with the more obscure ones if for all you know, it's only there to cause trouble.

not!fandom [2]:
Exactly. And then there's the trollmice causing trouble here, and then there's the "can I add this person or do I have to worry they're only wanting to be added to mock my flist," elsewhere and I'm tired of it. It's not cool to only get fun from pissing in everyone else's food.
