They expanded their relationship quite a bit in the miniseries. I was really disappointed when I skimmed read the book (after watching the series) because they barely interact, but they have a number of intense scenes together in the series.

I didn't notice Ciaran Hinds until just now, which makes me more interested in this movie/series(?).

The only role of his I didn't like was his Rochester in a Jane Eyre adaptation. (Smh at that) The rest that I've seen him in was pretty cool tho.

Seeing him first in Ivanhoe is what made his Rochester so disappointing to me. I wanted his Rochester to be like his Bois-Gilbert (character seen here), except, you know, with less rapey/murdery vibes. :) He did "brooding, simmering danger" so well in Ivanhoe, that when he turned up in Jane Eyre temper-tantruming like a four year old all over the place, I just....why, Ciaran?

He's really, really good in Ivanhoe. If you're a fan of his other work, you will definitely enjoy him in this.
