So my guess is he'll be on Thor/Asgard's side (conditionally) for a while when they're fighting against whoever the new villain's going to be, be it ~for his own reasons or whatever, and you'll get some nice brotherly affection and "Remember when..." stuff, and then at the very end he'll betray them after all, but with implications that he kind of liked being back in the fold and feels kind of bad about it.

That... that sounds more than just likely. I didn't think of that before, but now I think I'll actually be more surprised if it doesn't happen like that than if it does.
