I agree. But fandom has somehow turned that into a bad thing, merely because it's happening on Glee.

Well, she's only been in a few episodes this season. She was in "Saturday Night Glee-ver" (I know, I know...) and "Nationals".

I thought the character was just a transvestite or had another persona, not that they were actually transgender. Sort of like an alter-ego? Because they're sometimes a boy and the only time we see them as a girl is when they perform?

I didn't pay super close attention though so maybe I missed something.

There could be an actual trans character on the show though, I know one of the Glee Project contestants is, and that show starts in a few days I think.

The character specifically says she identifies as female. But right now, using the "Unique" persona is really the only way for her to express her gender identity.

Man I hate that so much :( I know Glee has its faults, but since it's apparently cool to hate Glee people piss and moan about any of the issues it approaches.

I don't criticize Glee because it is "cool" or edgy or something like that but because honestly, with all my heart, I personally think that the writing of this last season really sucks. Even if some of them were not so bad,I was, generally speaking, becoming more and more astounded and horrified at each episode by the "plot" and their character assassination (the reasons why Rachel and Blaine's first times happened, the outing of Santana by Finn, the way they portray Quinn as a potential crazy baby stealer... ). However, I can't say anything about the last episodes because I have stopped to watch Glee and I'm so happy to have done it!

Oh god this. I was so pissed, I turned off the show. After the writer's treatment of bisexuality, then this. Screw that. I am done with Glee.
