Is it just me, or does a lot of the Avatar fandom have nostalgia goggles coke-bottle thick and strapped so tight it'd cut off blood flow?>_>

My god, the way they're crusifying the plot and Mako for things the original series had done as well, it's just, what.

Not having seen the new series, I can't say for sure, but some of the complaints (like yesterday's secret, I think) sounded very valid. From what I read in the comments, it sounds like the producers/the series made promises that it isn't quite delivering.

People are jumping on Mako for being overly worried for Korra/Kissing Korra back. Yet Aang forces a kiss on Katara after she said she was confused and not ready. They act like the pacing is too fast and has too much filler. Rewatch season one, or three, for that matter. It had filler, and Aang goes into the avatar state -the second episode-

Come one people!

As for today's episode...Try mentioning anything against Asami. The fandom will literally rip your throat out. It's insane.

But the first series was planned and written knowing that there would be more than one season.

I thought that this series getting a second season was a change of plans after production started?

If so, that means that they had to make everything paced differently for a short one-season series, so it shouldn't be comparable in that sense to the first series.

...Unless the creators are clever and knew that they'd manage to get more seasons and planned/wrote with that in mind and oh I my head hurts

I see it this way. People are comparing the two regardless.

-The first series was better, it took places all around the world!
-The characters were more developed than in this series, series one is better!
-Bending was better in the first series, it wasn't so shallow!

If the fandom is comparing the two on other reasons, then I think it's perfectly fair to bring up the first series' flaws as well. :P

Wow...I definitely think the first series is better, but what is this shit about the bending being worse in LoK? I actually think that's one of the few things they are doing better than before (and it was still awesome, before).

Apparently...SPOILERS, btw...apparently the fact that Tarrlok/Yakone can levitate people with bloodbending is "OMG NOT NATURAL" and means they've cheapened it somehow e__e

Then again everyone seems to think Asami is Chuck Norris in character, and all we've really seen of her is that she wears make-up, has awesome hair, and she shocks a few people. But Eh, the fandom has always been a bit loopy.

But yes. There's a tone of nostalgia goggles being passed around. But there's such a large following of love that they neutralise eachother. Ah well ♫
