I've always felt that way. Especially since I always liked Allison more than Rachel. It felt unfair to me, as a kid, that Rachel got a book when Allison didn't.

Anon, I want to say thank you for submitting this secret. Because it has been driving me crazy for the past two fucking years trying to remember what these books were. I could only vaguely remember the characters, not even their names, and a teeny bit of the plot. I couldn't even remember the author, and no one knew what I was talking about.

This is such a satisfactory thing, like getting the itch in the middle of your back scratched.

Oh, wow, I never even knew about Rachel's book. Looks like it came out after I wasn't reading Judy Blume anymore. I really liked Allison though, so this does seem a bit unfair!

Wow, I never knew about Rachel's book-- but I remember large chunks over the first one. XP Including eating bananas and such to 'gain weight on top' lol. The random things that stick in your head.

Aw, shoot. I bought Here's to you Rachel Robinson recently, not realizing it was a sequel. And I feel stupid now. Haven't started reading it yet; would I miss out a lot if I read it without knowing As long as we're together?

Other than that: Yay, Judy Blume secret!!

You can read it w/o reading the other one first, but I think it would be more enjoyable if you read the prequel...Rachel's attitude about some things will make more sense :)
