OP here: very much not a repeat. In fact, I just watched it recently for the first time after seeing The Avengers.

AHAHAHAHA OH MY GOD I say this aaallllll the time. I am totally open about finding that scene profoundly sexual. Like, I tweeted it while at the Marvel Marathon. Downey with his big eyes and his face and Bridges growling in his ear--I made my mom watch this movie because she stans Jeff Bridges HARDCORE, and she's sitting there going ":( I don't like it when he plays mean guys! This guy is bad!" and I'm like "..............brbI'llbeinmybunk." trolololol~

And...well...maybe it wasn't the paralysis or implants or any of those things that turned you on? There's also the situation and context to consider -- him being betrayed by someone who he trusted all his life and who was basically a replacement father for him, and being violated in as intimate a way as possible short of rape, and the way Obadiah was leaning over him and growling in his ear and saying all those unbelievably creepy things and being so deceptively gentle with him...

Well, everything about this scene was so damn rapey and thus sexual, so I definitely see where you're coming from... It freaks me out every time I watch the movie. It's just a really intense scene.

I know! While watching that scene I kept thinking 'that has to be intentional or I have problems'. It was a really interesting aspect to the scene. You generally wouldn't see something like that in a blockbuster.

Yeah that was a hot scene, I didn't think I'd ever hear of anyone else that thought so though!

I'm dipping my toes into Avengers fandoms for now, but when I dive in, fics related to this scene (and Obidiah/Tony fics in general) are one of the first things I'm going to be looking for.

I've been looking for Obadiah/Tony non-con, but it seems all I can find are angsty stories where he sexually abused Tony as a kid, and not to sound crass (too late lol *double checks anon*), but that doesn't turn me on the way adult!smut does. But then again, I only recently got into the movieverse fandom, so maybe I just haven't looked hard enough yet.

I actually am hoping primarily for fics where Obie abused Tony as a kid. Recs/links? :)

I'm fairly certain that Bridges played up the rape-aspects of the scene (getting pleasure out of someone else's bodily violation? FEELS BAD, MAN) on purpose, so - yeah, I didn't get turned on, exactly, but I can totally see that from here for someone who has different kinks from mine.

I don't know what's fully going on in the scene, but wow, the scenario looks like it would be pushing a lot of my kink buttons. I feel even more motivated to find the time out to watch this movie now, lol.
