I swear it'd be so much better if they cut out this love triangle bullshit. I don't like love triangles anyway, but dear god it's just cringe-worthy. Whenever the they have non-romantic moments together, they're all lovely. If they just had those more often, I think it'd be perfect.

That said, for what it's worth, I think all the comparisons between Korra and A:tla are pretty unfair. I mean, I didn't really love A:tla till like 10 episodes in, and we're only at episode 9 of Korra now? Give it more of a chance. Plus there's less episodes altogether, so of course they'll have a little less breathing room (which is also why it's kind of worrying that they've spent so much time on irrelevant shit, but I'll reserve judgement).

Still don't like the love triangle though. Also Mako's a dick and he better get in trouble soon.
