I get this. He's like, so cool it makes you cringe to think of poking fun at him.

However, have you all seen the Memos From Fury tumblr at memosfromfury.tumblr.com? It's THE most hilarious tumblr I've ever seen -- it's made-up memos from the desk of Nick Fury, usually about him writing notices in a perfect Fury-voice, banning various Avengers from doing stuff, like this:

"It has come to my attention that, upon the urgings of a certain team member that will remain nameless for now, Loki has decided to alter his staff into a “Pimp Cane of Doom.” Once again, the advice of said certain member has never worked out in anyone’s favor and Thor will be enlisted to aid in the destruction of this cane.

I repeat, stop giving in to the peer pressure of this certain member, no matter the amount of the bribe.

Stark. I mean you."

Okay, I just added Memos from Fury because it's hilarious. But again, it's hilarious not because of what Fury is doing. It's hilarious because of what the people around him are doing. Again, he is the stoic, ice cold cool man in control while everyone else is a goofball. There are no real gags where he is being the goof. That's the point. You could remove him and make it Memos from S.H.I.E.L.D. and still have the same jokes.

Eh, I don't think it'd be as funny if it was Memos From SHIELD. Something about it being Fury writing them makes it funnier -- but then again yeah, it's his stoic unfunniness that's so funny, kinda like Kay from Men in Black.

OH MY GOD. THIS. BEST COMPARISON EVER.

.....now I want those two to be freakin' bros.

Hell, I can easily see SHIELD working with the MIB, but they're the actual PR front while the MIB are the shadows.

There's a widespread crack!headcanon floating around saying Kay is Coulson's dad, by the way :D

I've seen that head canon. XD And I adore it so much!!

I forgot about that. XD;;; So I can definitely see that as being the reason those two may bros, through the connection of Kay's kid.

God I love crossover head canons sometimes~ So much fun~

He's always had a rougher, saltier kind of humor to him but in the comics, which some people might not count or be interested in, but this is the Nick Fury I love:

"Look, Murdock, don't insult my intelligence, I'll return the favor... You wanna get in your red jammies an' jump off rooftops, that's between you an' your therepist."

Nick to Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil) who's pretending not to understand what "special abilities" of his Fury is alluding to.
