Since the movie, my speculation on what the fuck happened in Budapest have reached such epic levels of crack that I don't even want that joke to ever be explained, because it could never live up to my wild imaginings :D

Agreed! I hope it's never explained in canon. My favorite take on it is the "I hope it was really anticlimactic" tags on this tumblr post:
