The answer, of course, is to finally make a movie with Luke Cage and cast Isaiah Mustafa as Cage, like he wants.

Of course, that will result in tumblr (and ovaries in general) exploding every-the-hell-where.

And also Donald Glover as...as anyone. I don't even care who, I just desperately want to see that man play a superhero. Spider-man, Static Shock...I don't know, he'd make a freaking adorable Ted Kord, really. Just any cheerful and fun hero.

It's something I'm baffled that we haven't heard more talk about. Seems like the way to go about making good superhero movies is NOT to take the ones that are iconic and known to everyone, and then just make a good movie about that, because people don't know all the beats to a Thor or Iron Man story the way they can recite Spider-man and Batman's origin by heart. Static would pull in a great demographic, and Donald Glover is a good age to play him, and adorable enough that he can pull off playing a teenager, and charismatic/sexy enough that he can pull in even the non-comic-reading ladies (the Legolas effect, if you will), and has enough of a cult-following from Community to get an audience from that...

It wouldn't have to be some big, expensive block-buster. It could just be a seriously good movie.

Heh, sorry. If there's one thing I want as much as I want to see Glover as a superhero, it's for DC to branch out and take some risks with lesser-known characters, and just pretend that Green Lantern fiasco never happened.
