I'd...try to feel them out first, tbh - particularly if they heterosexual. They may not be the type to care if you're 'in love' with them - but that's not a guarantee and it could be pretty unpleasant for you *both* if they don't handle it well.

Though...I gotta say, if one of your biggest concerns is *fandom* stuff? Then...I think you may just be infatuated with them, not in love. I could be wrong, of course, but...idk. That just seems off.
