b) Mr Wilkins is a rhetorical construct who doesn't care about your feelings or, indeed, exist.

a) If you can play the "lol I don't care" card, then don't get so defensive when people rightfully call you on being rude.
b) Then why try to guilt-trip us with his story?

a) I am not sure what you are perceiving as defensive. Would you prefer it if I didn't reply to comments?
b) because the rhetoric is for real; a lot of fans don't show much compassion or interest for the world around them, but use emotional investment in fandoms as a sort of surrogate form of empathy instead. But there are fans out there who do care about the world they live in, and this macro would not guilt-trip such people or touch their nerves.

I don't have the energy to make argue this properly, but yes, you're being needlessly confrontational here, and passively-aggressively attacking people who disagree with you.

Yes, it sucks that people will cry rivers and donate shittons of money for celebrities and to BNFs but not care about the people around them who need just as much if not more sympathy and help, but acting like you're acting here won't fix anything in the least.

I wish you could see how you're sabotaging your own efforts, IF trying to solve the problem or at least raise awareness is what you're trying to do.

I hope I'm seriously misinterpreting you and you're not just trying to scowl at us from your high horse, like it appears you're doing.

No. No you fucking asshole, it touched my nerves. I care about the world I live in, I care about the people around me, and I do my best to help them. I am fascinated by nature and humans.

And you know what? That means I understand how basic communication affects people's lives. Reading is an act of communication, from an author to an individual that can be deeply emotional and feel extremely personal if a book resonates with you. It not only builds a connection with the author, it can help build connections with people who felt the same. The impact of literature goes deep, ok? You are shitting all over people's legitimate feelings by trying to pull some guilt-trip rhetoric that defeats the message you are trying to send by itself

So take off your fedora hat and stop trying to seem smarter than everyone else.
