(Anonymous) 2012-06-15 04:04 am (UTC)(link)I agree with you, for whatever it's worth, but this is the result you're risking when for some reason or another, you don't know or take into account the different contexts that people are coming with when they look at internet posts and such.
I say this as someone who has stumbled headfirst into wank landmines for coming from a different culture where discriminatory problems come in a different flavor than, say, America, where there is a bigger percentage of immigrants from a huge number of different places in the world, compared to other countries, and so the social problems are of a different variety than I ever expected. (Not that America is the only place where this sort of thing happens, obviously, but I'm just using the first example that came to mind!)
