Even a photoshopped image of me would be vastly different than an image of...pretty much any celebrity. It just would.

Yes the beauty that is often displayed in magazines and the like is virtually impossible to achieve IRL, and most people realize this, but...usually, these people's canvases are very nice ones. They have a lot to work with from the start. Some of them without plastic surgery, some of them with.

There's only so much you can do with any person, imo. Even plastic surgery can only bring a person so far. And some people don't want it, while most people just don't have that kind of money regardless.

I honestly don't see the harm in looking at someone you find attractive and admiring their appearance. I don't expect to ever look like a celebrity, and even if I were rich I'm sure I still wouldn't. But I make do. As long as people understand that the images they're looking at aren't always healthy, natural or realistic ones, and that they shouldn't automatically aspire to be those things just because other people find it appealing, they should be fine.

And hell, everyone has different opinions on beauty anyway. Even at their most made up and digitally tweaked, some people are just not going to find certain celebrities appealing. It is what it is.

For the record, the woman in the picture you posted is gorgeous. Made up or not. She has flaws, yes, but I've never met another human being that didn't.

TL;DR: These people usually have great features and look good even without obscene amounts of makeup or photoshop. Before makeup or photoshop most of them tend to look...well...like actual humans instead of otherworldly beings, but still attractive ones. Plenty of people admire the 'canvas', not just the paint you put on it.

I'm asexual and love reading porn. Plotty kink fic is my absolute favorite. I don't think the inclusion of smut necesarrily automatically makes a fic OOC, but then I guess we all have our individual interpretations of the canon.

As for OP - you have every right to have a smut free PG-13 place and those jerks making fun of you are just jerks. It's not like you're demanding everyone everywhere be smut free. And you're free to run your own damn community any way you see fit.

Though I did like Leonard/Priya. It wasn't perfect but it was a heck of a lot better imo.

It's your community and you can do what you want with it. I love smut fic but smut fic is all over the internet and is easy to find. PG-13 fic and under is a bit more difficult though, so it's understandable that a comm would exist for just that.

Maybe skip the tit kicking though; just tell them to go elsewhere for their porn, and if they don't like it to leave.

Argh this movie. This movie! It is super adorable and sweet and has really awesome scenes, but I just cannot stand the adultery. I just think there was no real reason to go through with the wedding and do the whole adultery thing. The pure joy of their relationship is totally ruined by the heartbreak of whatshisface.

It would probably have been one of my very favorite movies if it didn't have that whole bit, which is just frustrating.

Glee fic writer here -- I'm well known among the people who ship my OTP, but I absolutely adore gen and wish there was more if it. As an experiment, I've written porn and RPF but anything too explicit makes me uncomfortable. The consequence of that was that some gen I write gets about five or six very in-depth comments on LJ, and some Klaine PWP gets about two hundred notes on Tumblr but it all feels very shallow. The consequence of this all wasy that I'd much rather stick to my happy little gen circle.

There are writers like tamakito and ils_mutant who write gen and get plenty of attention. I think if you keep at writing in-character gen, you'll soon get a crowd of people who'll adore your work.

(Although I can't get people to touch my Finn-centric gen with a twenty foot pole. ;-) )

Honest question: what's the difference between furries who think they are [animal] vs Otherkin? Don't they both believe they have the soul of [whatever creature]?

I know that not all furries think this way, but it seems like a pretty common concept and I kind of thought that Otherkin were just a specific group of furries who identify as chosen animal/creature. Which is what OP is talking about.

... the wedding was at the beginning of the movie, though. She was (or thought she was) in love with the guy, so why should she not have 'gone through' with it? It was only afterward she fell in love with the other woman.
