Makorra is canon. And Asami didn't tear Mako a new one. Fandom seemed to only be sorta of right about Amon!

Who gives a dick about Makorra? Asami can have that babe Iroh and they can get married and be happy together and Mako go be a whiney douchebag elsewhere.

Also, while Amon turned out to be pretty hot is anyone else bothered by how different he looks as an adult then as a child?
I know hes been wearing a mask for years but that wouldn't make your skin go THAT pale ffs.

I assumed he bleached his skin, considering he was wearing makeup. Yakone was pretty light, though.

I love Makorra, I was so glad it became canon. So many people made up these silly elaborate theories about how Korra and Asami were going to go BFFing in the night or how he'd choose Asami because this or that. He apologized to Asami I honestly don't think he was a big of a dick as the fandom thought he was. Hell, even Asami forgave him, because she understood.

Anywho!

I ended up caring so much for that whole Tarlok and Amon/Noatak backstory.

(he WAS much darker skinned as a child though, it makes no sense, the creators were being stupid/lazy)

I go with he just bleached his skin, as an easier way to fool everyone/his brother.

Uh...she did? I never saw anything like that.

Episode 11. "Whatever happens I want you to know how much I care about you" Asami "I care about you, too" then kissed him on the -cheek- That was the end of their relationship. She forgave him, and accepted their friendship.

Really? I mean I guess you could get "nice break-up" if you squint....maybe?, but I didn't think that was what was going on AT ALL. It seemed to me like Mako was trying to preserve their relationship. There was never any talking, never any "look, I don't think it's going to work out between us", never any clarification of in what *way* they cared about each other...

Basically, it wasn't a break up. You really have to assume something important was said off-screen to come up with that.

Surely we all knew he was a bender right off the bat, though? Because you have to be a bender to take away bending.

I totes thought Tarrlok was Amon, though (yes, I realize that discussion prolly happened a couple weeks ago, but I only just watched the series yesterday and today, so I'm a little behind :). I was really surprised when he wasn't.

Actually, one of the more popular theories I saw floating around about his ability to take away people's bending was that he was using chi-blocking techniques to block benders' chakras. A lot of his followers were chi-blockers, and there was no bending required in that case. Quite frankly, that still makes more sense to me than what turned out to be the reality. How can he take their bending away via bloodbending?

I don't think he's taking bending away through bloodbending. Just that you have to be a bender (of some flavor or other) to take bending away. Aang's not a bloodbender, but he could take bending away, after all. And he could bend perfectly well before he unblocked his chakras. So...yeah, I can go with this.

The thing I am kind of tripping over is that your spirit is supposed to have to be "unbendable" or else it can backfire on you. I suppose I can allow that he was entirely and genuinely committed to his mission, which is arguably unbendable in its way, but... Well, anyway, I am very surprised he was able to master that ability so completely.

Maybe it's more of a suppression technique but was advertised as 'taking away' for the general populance ~~because Amon thought that sounded cooler/more badass~~, then?

Amon/Noatok wasn't a regular bloodbender. He was a /psychic/ bloodbender, just like sparkysparkyboom man was a psychic firebender. I think it had to do with his mind somehow cutting off the body's access to their element. As Katara said "Her connection to the elements was severed"

..Tarrlok/Noatok killed me..
