Yanno, I really like the Female mods that Chemical Alia's put out. They're probably the only female versions I've come across that look like they could fit in with the rest of the game.

Part of me thinks it'd be absolutely hilarious if Valve revealed Pyro is a female. OTOH, I hope they never reveal who exactly Pyro really is (the wank would be about as bad as when Hats were introduced), but I can deal either way.

I'm looking forward to the Meet the Pyro video coming out later this year, but I want the character to remain a mystery too. It would be great if anything they revealed the Pyro was a fake out followed by another fake out. They have kept the character a mystery so long that almost any reveal willl fall flat.

I'd like to say they probably won't add a 10th class for balancing issues but Valve hasn't given a shit about balance since the Medic update.

you just summed up the problem that almost every female character ever has to deal with (especially in more actiony/"male" genres). So.... yeah.

I have no idea what this secret is referring to, but the crux of the problem seems to be that when you shove in ONE female character out of however many male characters, FINALLY, that of course not everyone is going to be pleased. The only way to fix that is to actually represent ladies in every which way (same with every other excluded type of person).

You know! This is why you need to have more than one female character in a lot of things! Having just one makes it weird. They are supposed to be a stand in for ALL girls, and it just doesnt please everyone, but if you have even just 2 it seems less gross when one isnt the best representation of what people might want.

It's silly not to try because you might upset someone. I want to write about lots of different types of people. If I never write a black character because I'm worried I will mess it up, I won't ever get better at it or learn anything. And thats sad!

How about this: more than one female character.

In fact, how about if we get crazy, and say more than three! Either all of the classes could have a female option, or say... roughly half of the options offered could be female.

And they could be diverse.

No, really, is it so super shocking that you can't please everyone with one female character? It's absolutely impossible to be everything to everyone, and female characters often labor under ridiculous expectations to be just that.
