I love all the actors and actresses in HH.
The only other fans I know IRL are like ten-years-old or less (lol what do you mean I'm not the target audience?), and everyone loves everybody, so I really don't have the same problem you do.
I'm aware of how the tumblr fandom operates, however, so I just mostly stay away.

I adore HH, over here in the states there isn't many fans (cause they won't show it!)

But I totally agree with you on not giving credit for the women in history or the women who played the women in history. They are great!

I adore HH and my favourites are Jim and Sarah (and Katy Wix, who you haven't put in your secret!), so...

The girls are brilliant. It's a shame that they don't get quite as many starring roles, but the ones they do get are always played perfectly. And they've been getting a lot more starring roles recently, especially in the latest series, so hopefully that'll continue.

The whole cast is amazeballs though. Every one of them is fantastic.

I know. Lots of people I know disliked the Mary Seacole song for... no real reason (while liking essentially every other song from series four), and I've heard so many people say that Martha is their least favourite cast member. I love how HH treats women in history... it really does make an effort to highlight those who were important and balance things out.

I agree that HH is fantastic in the way it portrays women in history.

I think the Mary Seacole song was one of the best from this series actually, but I don't know any other fans in RL, so I'm not aware of what the general consensus on it is.

The HH fandom on Twitter adores Martha (the one's I follow at least) and other others (though Martha's the only 'main' cast member) so I was really quite surprised to see this.

It's "Horrible Histories", an adaption of a british edutainment book series for TV,currently in their 4th season. They're quite frankly hilarious and have one more than one Comedy BAFTA fortheir work.
Either buy the DVDs or just catch sme sketches on youtube? You won't regret it. ;)

This secret kinda surprised me- the part of fandom that I'm in at least definitely seem to love the ladies as much as they love the boys. I admit there seem to be more fics focused on the boys, but there are still ones featuring the girls, and the lack of fic doesnt for a minute mean that we don't realise how awesome they are.

Personally I think Martha is absolutely amazing and is probably my joint favourite cast member (along with Mat Baynton :D)

Hmmm I can see where you're coming from OP. Most of the fandom does appear to focus on trying to find slashy moments between the guys. Which can be fun and not even that difficult sometimes. But yeah...
Martha is a fucking ledge, plus Dom is amazing.
imho the Kate Bush pastiche was absolute genius... one of the highlights of the series :D

Oh yeah, and the way the show portrays women is exemplary- zero objectification, really sympathetically and humorously.
just thought I'd get that out!

Everyone I have seen on Tumblr has tried hard at least to include the women in their posts but there will always be more on the boys because those are the ones more people fancy I guess.
The Mary Seacole son was one of my favourites this series I don't get why it's not more popular,did you see her dancers?! the song?
