Oh god, your post reminded me that the Flowchart of Fail exists. HATE IT FOREVER.

There are no words for how much I hate that flowchart. It's a graphic representation of a really fucked up argument that's making fandom a lot less fun at times.

But what makes me gag even more than the chart itself... if you google "female character flowchart" you get hundreds of links to people who think that vile, misguided, pseudo-feminist bit of meta is the best thing since sliced bread, and a great guide for writing female characters. At least on LJ/DW there was some critical discussion, but apparently only here.
