But yes, Christopher was a pretty terrible guy, especially to poor Adriana. I haven't finished the last season. Keep saying I will, but I never get around to it. >_

I can't say I agree with you, anon, I always found Chris disgusting. But I also think Adriana was the love of his life and he never forgave himself.

I feel like Chris was more or less one of the more likeable/sympathetic characters during the first three seasons (as 'likeable' those murderers and criminals could ever get, at any rate). There was a sort of innocence about him because you could tell he had other interests besides being in the Mafia (screenwriting, movies, etc).

But yeah, after he got made and developed that drug problem he became truly terrible. He was horrible to Adriana but in a way their twisted fucked up relationship was tragic and in the end she really was the love of his life. The fact that he was so destroyed after she was killed (even though he himself sold her out) almost made me feel sorry for him.

I never have and never will get the "finding a horrible sexist dickwad hot makes you a bad feminist" thing. In fact, it kind of creeps me out, as it subtly implies that sex is all about the man's pleasure, and it doesn't matter how much the woman wants to hit that. Isn't it possible to want to fuck a hot asshole and then punch out his teeth while he's still dazed? Or hell, you could fantasize about being in control, coming before him, and then running off laughing while leaving him with blue balls. Seriously, people do not have appropriately sadistic imaginations.

I love this comment. Fantasies are just that, fantasies. Doesn't mean you would really want that in real life and it doesn't mean you'd want that for other people in real life. You can still support equal and just treatment for women, etc. AND get off thinking about some hot fictional jerk.

I get what you're saying tbh. But I whilst I was watching an episode with a friend of mine I happened to mention that I found Christopher attractive even whilst acknowledging he was a terrible person, and she was like, "Omg! I thought you were a feminist!" So I couldn't help feeling bad about it.

Yeah, I started watching it a couple of days ago in fact. It's quite good so far and I really appreciate how diverse the cast it, but I'm sad there are so little episodes because it got cancelled so early :(

He also appeared in an episode of Girls, aka the only one I'm planning to watch.

The beauty of fictional characters is that you can fantasise to your heart's content without feeling any guilt. You wouldn't want him in real life, but go for it inside your head. He's a sexy piece of shit.

I don't know why you should feel bad, I feel sorry for Chris. I was so sad for him and Ade, they dreamed big but weren't dealt with good cards to begin with.
There, now I'm sad about poor Adriana again. They're both such good actors and the show was so perfect!
