Ha! I know the feeling. Actually when I got into X-Files and it became my favorite show I briefly was like "I SHOULD JOIN THE FBI" for about five seconds before I looked up things like physical requirements and, oh yeah, there would be no alien/monsters/Fox Mulders.

damn, between things like x-files, silence of the lambs and shows like criminal minds, the fbi has such amazing, glam, free propaganda.

D:

I wanna be a SHIELD agent too, anon. Even though I'm pretty sure I am not exactly what they would be looking for, even if they existed. Haha.

If it makes you feel any better you can pretend that it is a real job, which isn't true, but we don't hear about it because none of us including you would ever come close to qualifying, which is.

Anyway SHIELD's pretty seedy and you'd most likely die so don't feel too bad

How do you know it isn't, OP?? ;)

Exactly. Who said the MiB weren't real on this plane of existance? ;)

Heh. Right there with you. Avengers seriously made me feel like I was ten years old, because when I was ten, I wanted nothing more than to be a secret agent. Heck, I was even trying to figure out which branch of the military gave me the best option of being one, or how to join the CIA.

Then I realized that military stuff involves being in life-or-death situations where you have to listen to other people who may or may not have your survival as a priority and...nah, I'm selfish and have authority problems.

YES.

I feel the same about my favorite show. Except I'm 90% sure that the Stargate Program exists.

I feel the same way. ):

(Anonymous) 2012-06-29 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
It does exist. And people who work there are bitter, pencil-necked paper-pushers, being slowly crushed to death by the weight of betrayed expectations and the gray monotony of everyday at their desks. Many have gone before them, many bright young things who studied astrophysics so they could go to space and meet aliens or became mathematicians so they could solve crimes with their dashing brothers.. so many have been taken in by the cruelly misleading glamorous aura the media has been secretly bribed to cultivate and no-one is doing anything to stop the propaganda. It's a tragedy.
