Not to burst your bubble about the trans theory for Vicker, but I believe the health pd was made for only a man because the father came on the trip. He was very old, so if there were any major health problems they could put him in the pod to heal him.

Of course it's also true that at least twice prior to the 'attempted rape' incident, Buffy had twice forced sex on Spike, once when he didn't know she was there (invisible) and once when he specifically told her to leave after she'd made him feel like crap. Also she'd beaten him to where he couldn't move and left him for dead in an alleyway when he was only trying to stop her from turning herself into the police. She was the human, the 'hero', the one with the soul in the relationship and she pretty much set terms of brutality and non-consensual sex.
