wait, is that the same person in both pics?

because only the only one above looks like an unphotoshopped, breathing, living person, and she was probably put through all sorts of make-up and beautifying shenanigans for the film

Yes, it's the same person. I think she's actually blonde and that she had to dye her hair for the film.

I'm still trying to get over the fact she's the same lifeless, annoying person who was Mystique in X-Men: First Class.

No, let me rephrase. I thought she was good, considering she was acting in XMFC. She and McAvoy are the only parts of that movie that aren't god awful.

Yeah, those two pics have way more different than just hair color. They could be two separate people.

She's always cute, imo.

Well...okay, I didn't particularly like her as Raven. I think something about the hair and makeup looked off on her to me, because I loved Rebecca Romijn as Mystique and I think Jennifer is beautiful.

Did like her in Hunger Games though, and in interviews she is THE BEST THING EVER. Love her sense of humor. I have a bit of a crush.

I didn't either, but I think part of that was the hurried ending. I could believe Mystique was just a teenage girl at some point, but then there was some very quick "Wellll now you're a badass terrorist with nothing in between". She went from being unsure of herself to NAKED way too fast as well. And a lot of her lines were just...awkwardly phrased.

I thought it was a miscast when I saw it the first time, but then I saw Hunger Games and got confused. I decided to chalk it up to her being inexperienced and inattentive directing.

I still feel like they should have left the betrayal and the changing of sides for another movie, and given her character time to grow up.

I meant on a purely physical level, but now that you mention it, I didn't like her as the character either. She wasn't terrible to me, but like you said, the ending was rushed, there was little believable character development for her and her characterization in general was a bit hit and miss imo. And the way she left Charles...oh boy.

The betrayal probably would've been better suited for a different movie, but knowing Hollywood that probably never would've happened either. They love to 'get to the point'.

Ooh, physically, I know what you mean. As disguised!Raven, she was cute, but the blue and the style just did not work for her like it did for Romijin. Romijin can play sexy and confident in the way that Mystique is.

That is to say, Mystique knows she's gorgeous, and that she can be whatever a person most desires. It sits in her mind as a part of her. However, it's not her priority. Her priority is being an efficient ninja who can do anything. For some reason, when Romijin was Mystique, while you knew she was sexy, that wasn't what held your attention, nor was it what concerned you. She was a badass terrorist to be reckoned with.

I think the actress just is either too young, or it just isn't in her repertoire.

The make-up and hair was just not as well done this time either, surprising, considering the original job was eleven years earlier, and you think they would have learned from it.

Hollywood is full of idiots who think we have the attention span of mayflies. That's nothing new.

Yea, agreed on all accounts. Mystique was not only beautiful but she was confident in her beauty in a way Raven never seemed to (organically) be. And of course she was badass and competent as hell, and again, Raven didn't get to show off much this film. Like you said, she jumped from "Blue is ugly!" to "Clothes are for chumps!" rather quickly, and instead of nodding along because it seemed like a natural progression for her, I side-eyed the screen.

The makeup def wasn't as appealing on her either. Seriously, you think they would improve after all this time. I guess it might just not be flattering on Lawrence, but...idk.

I can't look at the photos cuz I'm stuck on trying to figure out what the second cartoon's facial expression is supposed to be. Lust? Or the final stage before transformation in a zombie-bite illness?

It's "Oh, sweet Jesus!" I think it's supposed to be the expression someone gets during a good head rub or after getting that annoying spot on your back scratched.

Jennifer Lawrence is an actress who was portraying two different personalities in those pictures. There's a lot going on in both pictures not limited to hair color. Maybe Katniss just isn't your type?

I also crush on Jennifer over Katniss but that probably has more to do with her silly interviews and fun, laid back demeanor than her hair color.

No way, a touched up, Photoshopped magazine cover is more attractive than a real person? Stop the presses!

She's got a great personality, is absolutely smokin' hot, and plays one of my favorite characters in recent movies.

The only point of this comment is to say I'd do her. In either picture.

She's funny and adorbs. I feel a gif spam coming on!

I don't know her but I have to admit judging from the pictures she seems super obnoxious, haha.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one with that reaction! Everyone else is all LOOK AT THESE GIFS SHE IS SUPER ADORABLE AND FUNNY, and I'm all like....no, she seems really obnoxious and annoying.

For more than fifteen minutes, yeah, she'd probably get on my nerves but she's super GIFable! She definitely makes a change from celebrities who talk about how grateful they are to work with their co-stars and what they have for lunch.

Jen <3 I'm hyper and kinda obnoxious and I say stupid stuff, so she's a bit of a role model in that way. Also she's adorable and ILHER.

Did her face change (growing up)? Because in the first picture and, less so, in the ones in the "pretty please" set she looks like a different (older?) person, but I don't know if it's just the make-up or if she actually changed that much.
