I agree kind of?

Killing her was very convenient, as was the whole "you're not my real mom" dismissal of any residual feelings Rapunzel might have. It felt like how related they were became the problem, when really that was the one of the smaller things wrong with that whole clusterfuck. Things are more complicated, and if they're taking on the topic of psychological abuse in the first place, it's kind of ugly to prop a bunch of additional things on top of it to make it really bad enough.

She was totally abusive though, sorry.

I think finding out that your abuser actually kidnapped you is more than enough justification for wanting to get the hell away from them. It had nothing to do with if they were 'really' related or not.

You're forgetting that, when it came to her being kidnapped, there probably was a very big feeling towards the fact that something Repunzel believed for most of her life was false, and the implications [and quite possible some of things she'd told herself for equally as long as coping mechanisms [For example 'She must love me! She's my mom!'] no longer worked. That's bound to have a lot of hurt and anger bound up with it, and it makes sense that she'd lash out - particularly in the circumstances it happened under.
