For me either. That's not even hyperbole. I'm in full blown denial. My brother has to keep reminding me that was an actual scene and not some weird alternate ending I watched in the special features or something. Even now, talking about it, I can't really remember it in the context of the movie.

I'm not in denial, because I know he has to be alive.
I'm more curious about Loki and Fury knowing if he's alive or not (and if they do, was it all part of their plan, or if only one of them knows what's going on).

I get your meaning here but your phrasing "I'm not in denial, because I know he has to be alive. made me laugh. :D

I have similar theories but it's hard to tell what's actually plausible because of my bias. If the next Avengers movie doesn't have Coulson I can't honestly say I won't be sitting there after the last credit has long passed waiting until the ushers have to throw me out.
