How did you get "I don't thank janitors/custodians" from what I said? The fact that people with unskilled jobs work just as hard as actors was my entire point.

(For the record I do thank my office cleaning lady every time she empties my trash bin.)

I think I replied to the wrong comment, actually. Someone said something about not thanking people for the menial job that in no way affects them. Except I don't know of many workplaces, religious organizations, clubs, restaurants, or school systems that don't have some sort of cleaning staff, so there is someone who affects their life.
