That... seems pretty weird? You didn't know this friend well enough to guess whether he was going to show up as a fairly well-known (I guess, based on the fact that I as a non-anime fan have a vague idea of who he is) man, or cross-dress in the most ridiculous pink catgirl outfit ever? And you actually were upset the whole day over getting it wrong, not because clearly you failed at some basic level in understanding this 'very good' friend, but because he failed to live up to your fantasy?

Let me get this straight. Your friend told you ahead of time he was going to dress up as Ichigo. And then OMG he actually showed dressed up as Ichigo, and that made you mad because he dared to dress up as Ichigo when he already explained he was going to dress up as Ichigo.

Sorry to break this news to you, but you don't own his body. He has the freedom to dress up in anyway he pleases. Why does he have to dress up in public to fulfill some crazy-ass fantasy of yours.

I can see why this is a secret because pouting like an immature brat because your friend didn't dress up like your fetish is not the mark of a friend.

I can see being disappointed as in, "Darn, wrong costume. Oh, well," but, again, pouting ALL DAY LONG?

Oooh dear. My question is...did you really not expect him to come as the Ichigo from Bleach? I mean...I'm assuming that, since you're good friends, you'd have some ideas of what his taste in anime is - and his taste in cosplay so...I'm just a little puzzled as to why you're so surprised.

That said, pouting the whole day because he's not wearing a costume that hits your kink/fetish? Really? Don't you think that's a bit much?

Also, why did you even bother bringing up his girlfriend? From what you said there's nothing in there that she should have gotten upset over unless you'd been planning on saying/doing something to make it obvious there *were* fantasies had he dressed like that. So why even bother bringing her up?

I've meet people in fandom (not just in fandom, but many gravitate there) who are this jealous (bringing up the girlfriend), bubble-wrapped (assuming that the friend meant the less likely Ichigo just because OP was thinking it), possessive ("a very good [guy] friend", lusting after him ("sexy") while fully knowing that he has a girlfriend [if that's not a great misunderstanding and drama waiting to happen, I don't know what is]) and immature (being upset the whole day because of an error in communication and because someone didn't do what you wanted for a fun event).

OP, if this isn't a troll/made-up secret, give this a very good, long thought and take a few days for introspection. Read the comments above.

Yeah, I've met plenty of them too - but I'm *hoping* that OP has better sense than to actually do anything, if they have feelings for this guy, and to keep this whole secret a, well, secret if they aren't a troll.

I hope they keep it a secret too. In fact, the most likely outcome is that OP will try to keep it a secret no matter what. Unfortunately, there's a good chance that OP is not being as stealthy with their feelings as they think they are, which is why there's a potential for things going wrong between OP, the friend and the girlfriend.
