Yeah, I know it's really ridiculous and immature of me to think this way. That's why it's a secret.

I was never the stereotypical 13-year-old fanboy/fangirl, because I wasn't even in fandom when I was 13. And I think that's part of the reason why it annoys me so much to see people act like that. If I had been in fandom when I was 13 I probably would have been one of those stereotypical fanboys/fangirls (well, probably not when it comes to shipping... but I'd definitely have been super obnoxious about other things).

Advising someone to stop doing something they feel terrible doing isn't being an asshole (you do have control over yourself, you know). Your first step in acting mature might be to not think of advice as an attack on your character.
