I think OP means the women who get really fucked by biology. My BFF gets the most awful nausea (like, throwing up at certain scents level) during hers, and stomach cramps that can lay her up in bed for days. Me, on the other hand, I've got like, four days max, light as can be, no cramps or nothing, so I'd be golden.

So, it's not really dim to think that some people will get incapacitated by theirs.

And Emma is always wearing white. Like, even when not hero-ing it out. Fuck, now I'm thinking about it. Huh.

Yeah, I guess it's as innocuous as wondering if any superhero has to deal with incontinence, and how hard it must be to rip off a costume in time to go to the bathroom.

I guess I just assume these adults already know how to deal with their bodies.

I don't know. It's a weird issue. I mean, now that I think about it, I just wonder how the heroes with the bad ones handle it for those couple of days.

Goddamnit, this is going to bug me.

What about it makes it weird? I know folk folk feel weird bringing it up because reasons.

Perhaps some characters do take a day or week off. Maybe others are too proud to admit they need the time and pretend it's a non issue for them. Emma Frost probably says, "fuck it, I do what I want. I am incapable of being mortified." Afaik, there's tons of headcanon you can come up with.

Also, this is why I wonder about periods in female leads in fiction, too. I mean, god, I know how bad it can be -- and I know it can be WORSE. So yeah. I wonder. I wonder a LOT. And then I wish I were one of the lucky ones who doesn't have to walk around breathing through her mouth just so she won't gag for the first twenty-four hours of her very, very regular menstrual cycle.

It could very well be that the average superheroine wouldn't be among those women simply because anyone who is absolutely incapacitated a few days a month can't really be relied on to save the world at a moment's notice. Or they tell everyone, y'know what, don't call me on X, X, and X day and manage it.
