Lol, I assume OP is talking medieval settings or settings where guns are banned like The Hunger Games, because otherwise yeah, guns, obviously.

Though I've heard plenty of nerd types talk about what guns girls "should" use during RP; ones that are cute and concealable, like big handguns. Yech, after overhearing that particular conversation I gave my female character an assault rifle.

Assault rifles are where it's at! Plus, I feel like when I shoot an AR-15, there's way less recoil than when I try shooting some handguns (and I feel like that's not just personal experience.)

Also, I have determined that any dude who claims you can just hide your gun in a purse has clearly never used one. How the fuck am I supposed to find a gun in there in any less than four hours?? "Oh, you want my wallet? Yeah it's, uh, it's in here somewhere. Swear it is. It's just... it's really dark in there. NO NO I CAN FIND IT. I swear this has never happened to me before!" Plus a lot of women's clothing isn't really cut to be able to concealed carry with a shoulder holster or whatever, and yes, now I am just ranting about my personal pet peeves and I will hush now.
