I have PCOS, and in addition to having to deal with ovarian cysts on some occasions, my period can and does lay me out for at least a day each month. I can't move almost at all, I take painkillers, use a heating pad, and sleep all day. It's the only thing I can do, and let me tell you, people tell me I'm "whinging" all the time.

It's nice that your period isn't more than an inconvenience, but do you really think your experience is everyone's?

This used to be me before the pill. Every couple of years I'm like, "Eh, I can probably stop taking this now, right?" and then exactly one month later, I remember why I started.
