...no? I hate it because hearing something read aloud (with few exceptions) never sounds right to me. Whether people do separate voices for each character, whether they read sound effects, whether they emphasize italics, and then there's the actual matter of reading speed, inflection, pronunciation, and content. There are just so many things to consider that I generally think audio books should be left up to voice actors and things. It's not something that amateurs do well, imo.

In the only audiofic (I will never call it podfic hahaha) I ever did, there's a part where a broom falls over. It's not in the fic as a sound effect... but I did make it happen. Not by voicing it though. I had right next to me a plastic container that I had had cheesecake out of, with the fork in it. I gave the container a thwap and it sounded just like something falling over when the fork bounced inside it.
