Well if you were in America, you weren't being insulted for being white (if you are white). You were being insulted for being (insert ethnicity here) and being a woman. You are privileged for being white. You're just not as privileged as WASPs.

And in America, no one is more privileged than wealthy, male, cis-gendered, able-bodied, developmentally okay, mentally un-anguished, straight, cis-ethnic, educated, vanilla, non-furried, "masculine", human, whatever age gets the most stuff, WASPs. Christian Grey basically. And despite all the appellations, there are quite a few of these motherfuckers, ruling the goddamn country and most of the fucking businesses.

I know, I know! I've forgotten some disadvantaged group! A pox on my house! Let me prostrate my oppressive form before you in what can never be a sincere apology, no matter what I say! (The first paragraph was serious, though and I'm making fun of the "oppression" furries and "trans"-ethnic, kinky, aliens/frogs in a another life, face).

For the first paragraph, why would being white and American mean you can't be insulted for being white? You can be insulted for anything in the world.

You're right, I phrased that wrong. You can be insulted for anything. But from what they said, it seemed to be more about sex and ethnicity. If this was a response to a racially motivated conversation (about America), then I don't think that was the place to talk about ethnicity or sex, although those also have their discrimination issues.

It's kind of annoying that people leap to the idea that someone anonymous on the internet is American. America, America, America. Well, let me tell you what it's like in America. Because how things are in America is what really counts and that's what everyone should care about.

Last I checked, no one is telling white people in US to go back to their own fucking country. But here you are lecturing her about how things are in America as if that's at all relevant to her situation.

Um, actually I've heard that used against white people, women primarily from the soviet union, but okay. I mean I've actually heard people use Polack unironically. There were a couple times when some ridiculously conservative people told a Canadian to go back to their own fucking country (health care debate). Frankly, to tell someone to go back to their own country is being used more and more, especially if accents are involved. Obviously you are in or visited a nicer part of America, but it's crazy silly for you to assume you have the tempo of my experiences.

That's not even fucking considering the hate Arab-Americans/Middle Easterners get (because unless their skin color is not white, they are white in America). There was so much "go back to your own country" during the years we were in Iran...

But let's ignore your ignorance for a while. Let's talk logic. I'm going to use "in America" because I am American and OP never says where she was. If it was explicit where she was and that was not America, then obviously I wouldn't have used that. You're assuming I said that because I actually believe that's where the OP was. No, actually, I just didn't want to assume she was anywhere at all, and gave what answers I could, which doesn't include other countries. So wipe that chip off your shoulder and take several seats.
