It actually really bugs me when women in far-future settings DO have periods. There's plenty of medical tech that stops them right now (I didn't have them for over 5 years at one point), so I feel like at that point people would only be having them if they were trying to get pregnant rather than just by default.

Of course, this usually bugs me in books written by men.
