Spiderman reboot question

We were wondering this morning after seeing a trailer on TV:

What is the age cut-off for not really caring/remembering about the Sam Raimi spiderman movies? Because if you liked those, trailers for the new one look *exactly the same* in so many ways, even the swooping through the skyscrapers shots. It's not like Batman Begins, starting somewhere new, at least not in a way anyone who isn't already a spiderman nerd would know about.
As a casual movie-goer over the age of 20, I honestly don't get why the general public is going to see this movie.

So, any younger fans who don't have have this feeling?

ps - I know nothing about comics and this is going off of trailers alone, if it wasn't obvious

For me it was the whole police-forcing-hunting-spider-man thing that me go "ooh, i wanna see". I saw the trailer the first time I went to see The Avengers (lol), and that aspect of the story intrigued me. Plus, as one who has never read the comics or really seen any of the cartoon series, all I know about spider man comes from the movies with Toby M. and what my brother has mentioned. So this is a whole other ballgame for me.

The guy is also way cuter, but somehow I liked the way Toby looked as spider-man more. =/

What happened is Sony is losing the rights to Spiderman, so they are doing a cash-in movie. I think this picture describes it best.

That pretty much explains why Fox keeps making X-Men movies too, right? (Although I've liked most of them, including the last one.)

I feel the same way. The Raimi movies kind of put me off Spiderman. I wasn't a huge fan of him as a superhero to begin with. I really only liked the cartoon theme song. XD The movies didn't do much for me in terms of his origin story. With the addition of Gwen Stacy to the movies maybe it'll be ok. I fucking hated Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane Watson. To this day she's still the single most annoying female character I have ever watched in a movie. But the reboot does look like it's more of the same. Maybe it's just me but this reboot Peter seems cocky as fuck which kinda turns me off. And without Cave Johnson J.K. Simmons I just don't see the point in paying for a ticket. :P

I'm not a younger fan though, so my opinion probably doesn't mean much lol
