The same thing happened to me. I couple of years ago, I realized how hateful and unfair I was to nearly every female character out there (not all of them, but most of them). I went back to some of the characters I hated so much to give them an objective chance and I approach every new thing that I watch by thinking of them all as characters, not male characters or female characters. Now, some of those characters I still don't like because of how they were written or acted, but some of them I've completely fallen in love with. And I'm so happy I was able to do that. Shows/movies/etc. have gotten so much more enjoyable once I stopped automatically thinking the worst of female characters.

And Pepper and Natasha are awesome. I don't know how the other one is though.
