Why does everyone blow up the Eiffel Tower? There are other landmarks. And the Louvre! There are so many invaluable, irreplaceable pieces in the Louvre. You'd think that would be a major target.

Just pointing out that if you want to get technical, it's much more valuable culturally than the Tower.

That said, if I was a Catwoman-style burglar, you can bet Nike's statue would be in my living room. No, I don't know how I would get it out. I would find a way, damn it.

That said, Paris overflows with things that just scream "please steal me!" at supervillains.

Oh, I can already imagine the plot: the villain tries to blow up the metro, but it never happens because it's always 45 minutes late.

He wants to send a parcel bomb, but he can't because all the post offices are closed.

He dreams of destroying the Eiffel Tower, but he can't find it because the Parisians ignore him when he asks for directions.

That, or the supervillain'd end up stealing a superbaguette from a bakery and Les Misérables would start all over again! Except with Jean Valjean as an ambiguous hero and Javert as the ambiguous cop.
I can already see the slash fanfictions.


(Edmond Dantès would make a great superhero by the way. In a Batman meets Lex Luthor way.)

It's a french comic about European superheroes before the second world war. It's really good but I don't know if it has been published in English.
