Yep. True Love aired recently on BBC1. It's kind of an anthology series, focusing on a different relationship each episode. It was part improvised by the the actors so has a bit of a weird, stilted feel to it, the idea to present love as it really is, rather than the idealised version of love.

I'm guessing you mean it's immoral because they're a teacher and student, not because they're lesbians (please, please)... but in either case, it's okay to like a relationship in fiction that you wouldn't necessarily endorse in real life.

It probably also has to do with the fact that Kaya's character is only 16 and Billie is very much an adult. I loathe adult/children relationships and student/teacher relationships...and yet, I ship the hell out of them. I blame the actresses and their mad chemistry.

The actress on the left is meant to be 16, even though I think she's closer to 20? But yeah...she's supposed to be 16 in the episode. I do think some people got that confused since the actress is older than her character, but they make a point of saying 'she's 16' in one of the scenes.

What bothered me most is that the ending was completely unrealstic? Like, oh right they're just gonna run away together? Is she going to drop out of school? Jeez ~~

So far it's the only one that I've liked, but I haven't watched the last 2 yet. I thought the first one was meh and the 2nd one made me rage. But this one I thought was cute.

You thought the story of a teacher and her 16 year old student was cute? Really? It is one thing to say YKINMK or to find it interesting to watch, but calling it cute? What it is is completely immoral and disgusting.

It was more moral than the first 2 episodes, imo. At least neither of them were sleeping with each other while they were married. Although billie was screwing a married man in the beginning. 16 is of age in england, and I didn't see Holly as that old. Yeah teacher/student is not okay, but it's a TV show, lots of things are more ok in TV than RL. I did think they were cute.

Actually, when one of the people is over 18 and in a position of trust over the other person, 16 isn't considered of age. Which is the issue. It is the combination of the age difference and the teacher/student thing that makes it so problematic. And I think that is a whole lot worse than an affair, although affairs aren't so moral either.

Heh, I know what you mean. It was so nice to see a lesbian romance that ended happily (at least where we saw the story end) that I was trying to convince myself that it was OK.
