Because...she's not entitled to get who she wants just because Aang got who he wanted?
Why do their stories have to be exactly the same, anyway?
What would have been wrong with an unrequited crush on Korra's part - maybe eventually finding someone else she wants to be with? That's more *realistic* anyway and it's an important part of growing up.
