F!S stats chart - May on LJ vs. June on DW

[personal profile] agentcthulhu 2012-07-05 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Hi F!S, this is a follow-up of the LJ/DW comment analysis from two weeks ago.

Raw Data
F!S May-June Comments chart

During its first four weeks on DW, F!S received 1400+ more comments in total than it received during the last four weeks on LJ. The medium comment count (per day) was 884 comments for LJ and 958.5 comments for DW.

In terms of extremes, F!S on DW's lowest comment count on any given day was 612 (644, 2nd lowest) comments, highest comment count was 1439 (1365, 2nd highest)) comments, with a difference of 827 comments between the extremes. On the other hand, F!S on LJ's lowest comment count was 379 (549), highest was 1868 (1718), with a difference of 1489 comments.

Conclusion
So far, F!S on DW has the higher total comment count (higher average or mean comments per day), higher medium comments/day, and more comments than LJ on its lowest comment days.

The move did not kill us :D

Notes:
-Due to fluctuating comment count from deleted accounts on LJ, I looked at both LJ's comment count and DW's imported comment count and took the higher number.
-No pageview info.

By 'medium' do you mean 'mean'? I figure you don't mean 'median' if you're giving it as a fraction although I'd be curious as to what the median comment count is anyway, as one uberwank can ruin a weekly mean.

I did mean "medium". Since there is an even number of data points (28 entries) for both DW and LJ data sets, I took the average of both middle values - 881 and 887 => 884 for LJ, 930 and 987=> 958.5 for DWI - to get the medium value. This is the medium for all four weeks though.

This is the weekly medium starting from the week of May 5th, if this is more of what you're looking for:

934
881
