Well... I, for one, don't "find" them; I buy 'em. I promise you it's worth it, and so much more fun to have than some scans!

Eh, I don't know about that. I own about 300 doujinshi myself, and I can't remember the last time I pulled them out to look through them. On the other hand, I pull the scans I made constantly, so much easier to flip through them digitally.

Plus, it's very discouraging to pay anywhere from 15-30$ per 18-24 page doujin. It's a very expensive hobby.

Eh, I wouldn't suggest buying unless you can do so at events yourself, or if you know someone who can buy from the artist, and sell/ship to you at a reasonable price.

Resellers on eBay for instance will charge you through the nose just because they can, and that profit definitely doesn't go back to the artists. There are some lj/dw comms though that can be cheap or let toy offer trades, so there's that.

Sometimes following/friending fannish people on lj, dA, etc. helps. They sometimes have sales of old stuff.

Yeah, but if you don't read Japanese you can only enjoy the art. There are many doujinshi I've bought where I could not find the translation online, though I still enjoyed having the book to look at.
