True, but in this version Sherlock is a recovering addict which is why Watson is there. She was hired by Sherlock's father to keep him sober. (Instead of being just his roommate.) So, I think we are going to get a twitchy, dry heaving, cold sweating Sherlock.

Personally, I think the dynamic of Watson not being Sherlock's roommate but being an employee of his father's is an interesting twist. It would make a most likely already paranoid Sherlock just that more paranoid.

Yeah it would be interesting but it still makes me question where's the Sherlock in this adaptation. The more I hear the more it sounds like another super observant detective and sidekick show.

/I guess this is all moot until I actually watch it!

Interesting, but I'm not sure I like it, or the angle of his father, since he's dead. Why not Mycroft? That seems more like his thing.

The other reason I don't like it is because Sherlock trusting Watson the way he does is a big deal. He trusts no one else. I can't see him ever completely trusting a Watson who was not loyal to him first.

I just don't want their friendship fucked up. Sherlock and Watson are one of the best partnerships in literary history. I'm leery of anything that messes with it.
