Haven't played Neopets in years, so my advice may not be the most up to date (no idea what's changed). Zapping for a specific color seems incredibly risky to me, to be honest. There's no way to guarantee that your pet won't just get turned into another breed, which would mean you completely wasted the morphing potion. Going for the Fountain Faerie quest seems a lot safer to me personally. (Also, according to what you said, there's a way you can make yourself more likely to get FFQs?)

Yeah, there's a new moneygrab where you can get a Faerie Quest a day for a week as opposed to just waiting.
