The entirety of The Fox and the Hound does that to me :(
I wasn't able to actually watch it until I was like 15 because until then I was too horrified.
maiira: (Default)

[personal profile] maiira 2012-07-10 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel like it horrified me too but I can't for the life of me remember why.
dragonimp: (Oh noes!)

[personal profile] dragonimp 2012-07-10 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually have more trouble watching the Fox and the Hound now. I think most of it went over my head as a kid, but as an adult? Yeesh -_-;
elaminator: (Avengers: Tony)

Oh god. I watched that movie again a year or two ago and bawled. It was sad.
inkdust: (Default)

I have never, ever not cried intensely while watching that movie. I can get through to a point, but then it comes like clockwork.

That movie most likely originated my love for bittersweet endings. But that shit with the demon!bear just wasn't correct.

Every time he's screaming at her, I just look away...

(Anonymous) 2012-07-10 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently when I was little my dad tried to show me this movie but this scene scared me so much he stopped it.
There's some scary shit in Disney movies, I don't blame you.

That scene doesn't bother me, but I still can't watch the west wing scene. I have to fast-forward it or leave the room.

Same, but for me it's when he screams at her about going to dinner.
maiira: (Default)

[personal profile] maiira 2012-07-11 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Oooooo, yeah, that one's bad too. I think I managed to watch that scene enough that I was able to desensitize myself to it, but I still wince at it.

I've always admired how Belle just doesn't give a fuck. Well, she does, but she's completely and utterly fearless. I'd be huddled in a corner crying if I were in her position.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-10 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It's the wolves when she's running away that nearly do me in. And this is my favorite Disney movie! Those wolves. OMG!!!

Man, it wasn't until I was eighteen that I could watch the first half of Beauty and the Beast without running out of the room.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-11 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Reminds me of the secret recently about Ariel's dad getting pissed and destroying all her stuff. WHY YOU SO MEAN DISNEY

(Anonymous) 2012-07-11 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Disney runs on the tears of little children.

I couldn't watch the part in Aladdin where the Cave of Wonders is collapsing. It scared me so fucking much as a kid. I'm fine with it now that I'm older but I cringe at the obvious old CGI bits.

On the opposite spectrum, I'd go hide in the closet or behind my bed or something at the beginning of Dumbo when he sneezes and unfurls his ears because I got so much secondhand embarrassment from it as a kid. Doesn't bother me now though, lol.
kathkin: (I'm on a horse)

[personal profile] kathkin 2012-07-11 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
Argh yes Aladdin. D: That terrified me too.

I still can't watch Pink Elephants on Parade all the way through. :(
darkmanifest: (Default)

[personal profile] darkmanifest 2012-07-11 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
It was Ursula turning horribly huge and then getting stabbed in the gut with the prow of a ship and dying in graphic agony that does it for me.

...why did anybody ever think Disney was cute kid's stuff.
the_glow_worm: (Default)

[personal profile] the_glow_worm 2012-07-11 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'm going to publicly admit that I saw the Beauty & the Beast midquel and the organ actually scared me really bad lol.
kathkin: (Sleeping Beauty)

[personal profile] kathkin 2012-07-11 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
I used to be scared by the dancing elephants in Fantasia. >_> <_< Do I win?

(Anonymous) 2012-07-17 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to get scared by the Russian flowers in Fantasia when I was little too. We both win shiny gold stars. >_
kathkin: (Default)

[personal profile] kathkin 2012-07-17 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha that's weird cause the Russian flowers were my favourite part! xD I get it now that I think about it, though, the Russian dance section is pretty intense.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-11 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It took me a long time to be able to watch the ending of Snow White from when the witch gives her the posion apple to after the boulder falls on the witch. That terrified me as a kid. Also when McLeach tries to feed Cody to the crocodiles in The Rescuers Down Under.

Yet those are the only scary Disney things that took me a long time to get over.

[personal profile] otakugal15 2012-07-11 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
.....I feel like the odd ball out in that nothing scared me in a Disney movie, not even as a kid.

>_>

However, most of them I can't get through without bawling my eyes out. I still watch, but it's all blurry and hiccupy. So I guess that makes up for that.
