They did go out of business, technically. But Stu Levy, the head of the company, is basically an insane moron and now he keeps teasing people with "WELL MAYBE TOKYOPOP WILL COME BACK?! LET'S PRINT SOME RANDOM MANGA AND SEE HOW IT GOES LOL". He still keeps their Facebook active and seems to be flip-flopping on the idea of bringing his company back as a "print on demand" company...of course, the problem with this is that most of the titles TP owned that were actually GOOD have either been bought up by other publishers (for example, Dark Horse has bought up almost all of the old CLAMP properties they used to have)...or the artists who used to work with TP got so upset/angry with how TP handled their work that they'd probably never let them republish any of their books again in a million years. :/

Ugh, that's... pretty bad. :/ I was mad that they went out of business because you know, lots of downloads killing the print industry, but I got over it because I read online manga too (even if I try to buy as much as I can). But the way they handled their business probably had a lot more to do with why they went under, if it's like that. I hope they don't do something even dumber.
