Adorable secret, but I would like to advise you to research the hell out of your volunteering abroad arrangements, because a LOT of those gigs are now getting a rap for being unethical, being useless makework, replacing paid jobs in their local areas with foreign volunteers, etc. Read this and the study it links to, take it from there.

I thank you for your concern. I have done my research and the program I am going with is a conservation project with Projects Abroad: http://www.projects-abroad.org/

I have been talking with people who were part of the program in years past and all have had good things to say. A friend of mine was going to do a project with them until she realized she couldn't afford it but she had good things to say about the program from what she's seen about them.

I have indeed heard about scam companies and the like but Projects Abroad feels like the real deal to me.
