How are they 'erasing' anything? Does it change anyone else's copy of the game? Are you forced to use it? No. The character is still there. And honestly, people create mods for everything under the sun in PC games, especially character appearance. You care too much about what someone does in the privacy of their own home when it doesn't affect you in the slightest.

Before anyone makes assumptions, I've never used these mods myself, and probably never would even if I played these games on PC.
