I can't cut this as a personal attack because it's not one unless it's targeted specifically at the person in the photo, which it doesn't seem to be.

I can't take this down "for being a photo of a person who is not a celebrity" unless I also take down every other "photo of a person who is not a celebrity," because otherwise it's not fair.

Then it gets into: how do you define a celebrity? How famous is "famous enough" to pass? What if it's a cosplayer, should all pictures of cosplayers be taken down because they're not celebrities? What if it's a voice actor whose face nobody knows? Is that acceptable? What if it's some person on youtube? What if it's someone on youtube who has over ten thousand hits on their personal video? A hundred thousand? What if it's a BNF? What if it's a picture of a crowd at a convention, and it's clear the OP hasn't gone and asked the entire crowd for permission to use their photo?

We're not talking about someone who's well-known in the fandom or someone you can find on IMDB or youtube, we're talking about some person nobody knows who has done nothing but get her photo taken with a celeb she likes and now has her picture posted on the web with a caption saying she's creepy.

A caption saying Hiddleston fans are creepy, not her specifically for anything she personally has allegedly said or done - she appears to be "an example of a fan" (who is not shown doing anything creepy at all) more than a person who is personally being discussed - there's a difference! If you look at the thread, pretty much nobody is concerned with the personal identity of the fan, as the secret was about the whole fandom in general.

Whatever do what you want. I think it's creepy, rude, and the only reason why the person in the photo isn't asking you to take it down is because she doesn't know about it.

When I said "concerned with," I did mean "concerned with," not "concerned about!" Nobody is taking it to mean that this specific person in the photo is doing anything creepy, because as I said the wording is directed at the whole fandom in general.

Now if the picture was ONLY of the fan and not "an example of a fan photo with Hiddleston," you would have a good point. This is not that, though.

And if you think about it, most of the reason other people aren't asking for anything else to be taken down is because they don't know their fanart/fanfic/copyrighted material is being used for secrets.

Just wanted to say I have no idea who the actor (or the fan) is and I honestly couldn't care less, but I agree with your reasoning here. Makes perfect sense to me.
