Yeah, and it's people like you who try to tell everyone who has the slightest complaint about PT fandom to shut up and say nice things that make people want to get the fuck out. I'm sorry, maybe you're new and haven't gotten much further than the PT LJ comm, but when I used to RP, I experienced some of the most unpleasant drama happening behind the scenes between Fakiru fans and Fakir/Mytho fans. Enthusiasm is fine, but passive-aggressive "well it's fine that they ship that I just want them to do it somewhere ELSE where I don't have to LOOK at it"(wtf it's behind a cut, scroll) is the bread and butter of some of these smaller fandoms. And christ, no one mentioned villanous fans before you.

Funny that you should say that, anon. There are two sides to every coin.

In my experience, Fakir/Mytho fans (not all, but there were select groups) are some of the most hateful, intolerant, and condescending people I have ever had the displeasure of sharing a fandom with. And they didn't even try to hide it. In the Princess Tutu Livejournal community, in particular, they were outspoken against things they didn't like. They left nasty replies on posts made about other pairings and things they didn't agree with when they could have easily scrolled by, as you say, one of which they completely tore apart a poor writer who wrote for a pairing that almost no one else did.

And you know what the kicker is? They thought they were hilarious and entertaining with their behavior and some of the other fans even agreed. Rudeness and discrimination were being celebrated, just because they happened to be rooting for a pairing that wasn't as widely liked as some others. There was even one fan who made a post on the community about how "Fakiru fans are delusional" and started loads of arguments before they rage-quit and deleted their post. And even more than that, some of them put down people who did works FOR THEIR OWN PAIRING, not finding it up to their "standard" in either art or writing or simply not liking the person's ideas. I saw so much of it that it made me lose all understanding I could have for shippers.

I don't know if we're talking about the same group of people or not, but they did go on to RP in dressingrooms (the original PT one) and elsewhere. They continued to put other people's ideas down, make the plots all about them, and eventually chased out the people who couldn't take it anymore after they were appointed to modship and kicked out the other mods of the dressingroom.

It's the most hate and intolerance I have ever encountered in this fandom to date.
